Solar power supply systems in Algeria

We installed 17 feeder systems powered by solar plants for the Menzel Ledjmet East (MLE) gas field in block Ledjmet 405b, in the Berkine basin, Algeria, around 220 km south-east of Hassi Messaoud, as part of the commercial project jointly developed by Sonatrach and First Calgary Petroleum Ltd. These systems were designed and built to guarantee operation in extreme climatic conditions, characterised by high operating temperatures as well as frequent and highly intense storms.
They include the following elements:
– Solar array (PV array)
– Batteries and storage box
– Battery charger regulator
– Voltage regulator or controller
– Distribution power boards and DC-AC converter
– Cathodic protection control unit
